Two large quantity gravel pits in the heart of the Saskatchewan grain belt. First pit is located 5.5 miles or 8.8 kilometres directly south of Melfort on Highway#6 for easy hauling in any season. Has been in active aggregate production for many years with the face over 15 metres (50 feet) in some places. EM31 testing indicates 1,631,800 Cubic metres (2,134,394 Cubic Yards) of usable material. Second pit is located 7 miles west (10.5 kilometres) and 1 mile south (1.6 kilometres) of St.Brieux. This pit also has been in production long term and is located between several other gravel pits. The face in some places exceeds 7.6 metres (25 feet) EM31 testing at this pit indicates 1,956,700 Cubic Metres (2,559,393 Cubic yards) of usable material. EM31 test equipment has a max depth for exploration of 6 metres (18 feet). As both pits have faces exceeding max testing depth of EM 31 some indication that assessment amounts may be low.
Some older dependable equipment may be available.
Could be sold in conjunction with SK981121, this concrete plant and the aggregate pits work well as an integrated business.
